🧪 Project Epoch Simulators

Built from scratch. Tested in-game. Tuned to Project Epoch's actual numbers.

Public simulators (wowsims/tbc, the various TBC spreadsheet calculators) extrapolate from generic 2.4 or 3.3.5 client data. They're great — and free, and open-source, and always will be. But Project Epoch isn't a stock private server. Custom items, reworked talents, server-side modifiers, balance patches that don't appear in any data dump — none of that is in a public sim by default.

What makes these different

Every simulator listed below is a clean-room rewrite for Project Epoch specifically:
  • Coefficients validated in-game — abilities tested against real PE combat logs (the same logs that feed the rest of epoglogs.com), not extrapolated from a generic TBC model.
  • PE-specific mechanics — custom item procs, talent reworks, and bug-bug-compatible behaviour that public sims don't model.
  • Iterated against parses — sim output is validated against the top parses on epoglogs.com. Disagreements get chased to a formula or coefficient mismatch and fixed.

Why donation-gated?

Each simulator is roughly weeks of work: in-game testing, spreadsheet building, formula reverse-engineering, calibration against parse data, and a long tail of iteration as new patches land. It's the kind of project that needs one person obsessed with a single spec at a time — not crowd-sourced, not weekend hacking.

Free public sims still exist and always will. The simulators here exist additionally — for players who want PE-accurate numbers and are willing to support the work that produces them. If you just want ballpark gear ranking, the free options are perfectly fine. If you're chasing rank-1 parses on epoglogs, this is for you.

🪙 Access tiers

Hunter is free for everyone — the launch demo for the new clean-room engine, shipping with the full talent tree so all 3 specs are selectable in-sim. Subsequent class simulators are tier-gated by lifetime donations.

Tier What unlocks
Free Hunter — launch demo with all 3 specs via talents, available to everyone
$5+ Hunter + 24-hour trial of one chosen class simulator — taste it; trial expires, you can pick a different sim next
$10+ Hunter + permanent access to one chosen class simulator as classes release
$25+ Hunter + every other class simulator as it releases — auto-extends to new classes
$50+ All class simulators + early-access betas + colored name + ★ across the site
Paid tiers are based on lifetime donations (your running total from Buy Me a Coffee) — once you cross a threshold, the access is permanent. No recurring billing, no risk of losing access if you stop donating.
💻 Run your sims offline. Every sim you can run online is also available as a downloadable CLI binary — no iteration cap, no server queue, run locally on your PC. Get the offline simulator →

Permitted: interactive use of the simulators via the web UI on sim.epoglogs.com for personal gameplay analysis on Project Epoch. Sharing screenshots, sim results, and gear-rank comparisons on Discord / forums / streams is encouraged.

Not permitted: scraping simulator output programmatically; extracting, reverse-engineering, or republishing the sim engine / formulas / coefficients; using the simulators or any derived data as the basis for a competing tool; redistributing access to paid tiers without authorisation.

Calibration data (in-game tested coefficients, parse-aligned damage multipliers, item-proc behaviour specific to Project Epoch) takes weeks of work per spec to produce and is the central value the paid tiers fund. Treating it as proprietary keeps the project sustainable. Free tools that don't share this lift (wowsims/tbc, etc.) are explicitly endorsed for users who don't want PE-specific accuracy — see the pitch at the top of this page.
